Dear Resident,

National Express has granted an additional 'Clockwise' route to the No. 9 route within the 'Finham Triangle' and increased the area covered. Have a look at the Attachment which shows the new 9 & 9A routes.

Changes have been made to the southern end of these 9 & 9A routes, i.e. south of the railway station. There are no changes proposed for the 9 & 9A north of the railway station at this time but there are new plans to introduce new bus stop arrangements within Station Square in several week time.

On Sunday 17th, your existing No.9 continues basically as at present, except that the 9 from town will  no longer turn right at the bottom of Leamington Road to go onto the A45 but go straight across onto St Martins Road to the top of Green Lane using the existing but currently unused bus stops. The 9 bus then turns left onto the A45, left onto Beanfield Road and right to its terminus on Leasowes Avenue. This terminus is also the terminus for the No.9A service.

The No.9 journey into town starts from the terminus in Leasowes Avenue, turns right onto Woodside Avenue South, right onto the A45 and then right onto Bathway Road before turning left onto Green Lane and then following the present route to the railway station.

This new arrangement means that residents north of Bathway Road (1.e. Gretna Road and the tip of Green Lane) will have to walk a little further to catch the 9 bus into town but they will still be able to get off the return 9 bus at the top of Gretna Road.

There are no changes to the 9A operation except as a measure to optimise reliability of both the 9 & 9A. The bus that arrives at the Leasowes Avenue terminus as a No.9, goes out as a No.9A. An incoming 9A, goes out as a 9. This action balances out their differing journey times.

The actual running times have not been published yet but we will try to update you as soon as we can. Watch out for notices on the buses, stops and local centres with Finham as well.

This change will start on Sunday 17th May and offers a great improvement in our mobility.
